Are you ready to get covered in fake injuries and scream and moan?

Energetic volunteers are needed to role play as victims during the Advanced Disaster Life Support course offered to health care workers by the State Emergency Registry of Volunteers in Oregon (SERV-OR).

This is a fun opportunity for anyone to help their community and medical providers learn how to respond to disasters.  Volunteer victims are put in makeup with simulated wounds.  Students in the course will then get to practice dealing with large numbers of injured people after a mass casualty event.  It is a great opportunity to help the community prepare for emergencies, try out some acting skills, and meet other volunteers.

Lunch provided

The class this supports is Advanced Disaster Life Support, an intensive two-day course that allows students to demonstrate competencies in casualty decontamination, essential skills, and mass casualty incident information systems/technology applications.  As a volunteer victim actor, you'll be joining the students for the afternoon of the second day of the course.

Course descriptions:  If you're curious, see the full course description on the National Disaster Life Support Foundation website.  See the Disaster Life Support courses offered by the State Emergency Registry of Volunteers in Oregon on Oregon's Public Health Division website.

Sponsored by: Oregon Health Authority Public Health Division's Health Security, Preparedness and Response Program, through a grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), Emergency System for the Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP) program.
